Halloween is only a few days away—and if you’re anything like me, you’ll want to make your home the perfect trick-or-treat destination for kids and adults alike. Here are some quick and easy DIYs to help you be the best Halloween (g)host or (g)hostess.

How to Make an Apple Pie Fall Float

As much as we love a good pumpkin spice latte (it is a fall staple, after all), we’re always looking to find new and creative drinks and sweets to make for the holidays. If you’re hosting this Halloween, why not try out our recipe for an apple pie fall float? We use the Brown Butter Sugar Cookie Frozen Custard from locally owned Snoqualmie Ice Cream for the perfect flavor. We also use ginger beer to mimic the pie-baking spices, but you can go with a sparkling apple cider if you prefer.

DIY Trick-or-Treat Banner

This versatile project fits the season and puts a spin on the ever-popular pennant sign. It’s perfect to hang over a table displaying all of your yummy snacks and desserts for a Halloween party, and it’s easy to customize to your home’s decor. What makes this even better is that it’s double-sided! With this project, you’re not only set for Halloween but for Thanksgiving, too (which is just around the corner).

Gingerbread Pumpkin Bread

In our family, a loaf of pumpkin bread never lasts more than three days—we’ll be lucky if this gingerbread pumpkin bread will last more than three hours at any party we host. While the kids snack on candy, you can have some of this bread ready for the adults (and the smell alone will fill your home, making it even more inviting!). Complement each slice with a nice cup of hot coffee and good conversation with friends and family.

How to Make a DIY Fall Banner Sign

Tap into your inner child while creating a sophisticated home project. Gathering leaves will be a fun activity to do with the kids, and you’ll have the cutest sign to attract trick-or-treaters to your porch and welcome anyone coming to your home. And because this project starts with a basic template, once you know how to make this sign, you’ll be able to make ones for any and all holidays and special occasions.

How to Make a Pumpkin Beverage Dispenser

Both kids and adults will get a kick out of this pumpkin beverage dispenser—and all you need is a carved-out pumpkin, a drill, and a quarter-turn nozzle. It’s a fun Halloween decoration as well as a functional way for your guests to serve themselves drinks. You can put whatever you like inside, and if you save the pumpkin seeds, you can bake them for your guests to eat!

Whether you try one project or do them all, you’re bound to have a frightful and festive Halloween that will leave your guests and trick-or-treaters excited for next year.
