One of the reasons I appreciate DIY green cleaning is that it is very sustainable. Instead of buying a complex mopping system that requires disposable cloths and expensive mopping solution, I use a refillable mop and make my own wood floor cleaner.

I love it! Another benefit to making your own wood floor cleaner is that you have the ability to customize its scent. Change how your homemade floor cleaner smells by adjusting which essential oils you use.

Step 1

Start by measuring 2 cups of distilled water.

Step 2

Then add 2 tablespoons of white vinegar, half a tablespoon of your favorite dish soap, and a splash of lemon juice. Additionally, you can add your choice of essential oils. Check out our post on how to incorporate essential oils into your DIY cleaning products.

Step 3

Pour the mixture into refillable mop or spray bottle and use to clean the entire floor or areas as needed. Enjoy!
